The fast pace world of K-beauty is constantly introducing us to new trends, and how to get our perfectly dewy skin. This time the new trend is "Glass Skin," which basically means that your skin is so healthy, even toned, and plumped with hydration to the extent that your skin is gleaming like a shard of glass. After reading the steps from the originator of "Glass Skin," Ellie Choi, I have created my own easy step to glass skin. While other blogs has shared routines that require multiple products, I am going to create a simple list or beginners. Since some people might feel overwhelmed using multiple brands, this list will be compiled all from one brand, Innisfree. In this blog post, I will be introducing an affordable and easy guide to "Glass Skin" for K-Beauty beginners.
1. CLEANSING

The most important first step to any good skin care routine is cleansing, since it refreshes your skin and leaves a clean canvas for the rest of your routine. By cleansing, you remove dead skin cells and impurities that impedes the toner or serums from fully absorbing into your skin. For this step, I recommend the Innisfree Green Tea Cleansing Foam, because of it is a gentle cleanser that also holds all the benefits of green tea; which includes antioxidant and anti-aging properties.
2. TONER

Next, toner is incredibly important since it helps reset the pH level in your skin after cleansing. In order to get glass skin, your face must receive enough moisture to give your skin that healthy glow (aka natural highlighter). The Innisfree No- Sebum Toner makes sure for anyone with make sure that your skin does not get too oily, turning your dewy look into a hot mess. While you do want your skin to become wet and radiant, becoming too oily will ruin the perfect glass skin look. However, this toner make help with oily/ combination skin types from looking too oily, while still being very moisturizing and nourishing to the skin.
3. SERUM

Again, the key component to glass skin is keeping your skin well nourished and moisturized, so that your skin can naturally shine in the light. A serum is a product that everyone should have, since it has so many great properties in healing the skin. If you want to read more about the properties of serum, please refer back to my previous blog post, here. For this step, I recommend using the Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum, since the product is made from green tea extract from Jeju Island, that hydrates deep in your skin. The product is also rich in amino acids and minerals, leaving your skin smoother and dewy for that natural shine.
*pit: You can apply an essences or ample before this step for an extra boost!
4. MOISTURIZER

Of course, when you are trying to achieve glass skin, you can't forget to moisturizer (for the 3rd time). The Innisfree Orchid Gel makes a great moisturizer, since it leaves the skin silky and firm, while filling your skin with moisture. This product is made from Hyaluronic acid and ß-glucan which refreshes the elasticity in the skin, nourishing your skin with different types of nutrients. Also, since this product is gel-based, it will keep your skin wet and dewy throughout the day.
5. SUNSCREEN

Lastly, although this step does not play the biggest step to getting glass skin, it however does protect you from the harmful UV rays from being outside all day. The Innisfree Perfect UV Protection Cream is a great long-lasting sunscreen that will protect your skin from further sun damage. Apply a generous amount before going out, to complete you glass skin routine. I hope this review was helpful!
